In May you can celebrate the Rose Festival, which takes place in El-Kelaâ M’Gouna, which has the world’s largest rose water distillery. El-Kelaâ M’Gounag is near the Sahara and in the Valley of the Roses the area is surrounded with pink Persian roses. The Rose Festival celebrates the harvest of the pink roses. You can dance at the festival, see a pageant where Miss Rose is crowned, and buy multiple products with the famous rose water, such as soaps and perfumes.
