This month we are highlighting the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinking-kit.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.thinking-kit.com&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1495208430996000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHGsDAthIGF02ZviSitXe5wR7bOZA\">Thinking Kit<\/a>.\u00a0Thinking Kit is a quick way for teachers and students to create their OWN activities for iPads quickly and simply. It comes in two parts \u2013 the creator, which can be used on any browser on any device, and the free iPad app (which is how tasks get downloaded onto iPads).\u00a0Teachers can create tasks quickly for the next\/same day, or students can create tasks for their peers to solve &#8211; in their class, or even in another country if they make their task public!\u00a0Below are a list of\u00a0Thinking Kit&#8217;s features to support the learning needs of language learners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Each week we scour the internet to find great web tools and apps\u00a0to share on our various social networks (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TESOL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@TESOL<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AmericanTESOL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@AmericanTESOL<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ESLWebinars\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@ESLWebinars<\/a>). Check out our past favorites <a href=\"http:\/\/americantesol.com\/blogger\/category\/americantesol\/teach-english-with-technology\/tool-of-the-month\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits for learners<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A new topic can be more easily digested as it is broken down into smaller chunks.<\/li>\n<li>Develop true collaboration skills as the app can be worked on in pairs or small groups (as well as individually).<\/li>\n<li>Build metacognition by \u2018thinking about their thinking\u2019 in a dedicated Reflection Stage at the end of a session.<\/li>\n<li>By usually reading the cards first then putting them in groups before making further, deeper connections, this is excellent for retention of information.<\/li>\n<li>If they have a try at actually creating their own activities, this is fantastic for a whole host of skills associated with Project Based Learning.
