This festival began in the late 1700s, and celebrates the end of the sugar cane season, which began when Barbados was the world&#8217;s largest producer of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitbarbados.org\/cropoverfestival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sugar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Crop Over Festival hosts several events from the end of June until August. The festival ends on Grand Kadooment Day with amazing parades where bands dress in colorful costumes while dancing to calypso and soca music. Other fun events include the Calypso music competitions, a steel pan festival, and the Visual Arts Festival.
