Catherine Cheynel was cooking soup when she noticed soldiers climbing Geneva&#8217;s wall. She poured a large cauldron of soup on the soldiers, which awoke the residents and the militia who successfully defended the city. People at the festival celebrate by consuming a cauldron of chocolate stuffed with marzipan candles.
