Coat of Arms RwandaCountries like Rwanda are looking for individuals from the United States who are willing to spend a little time teaching English and learning about African culture. The hope is that by learning how to speak English, the citizens of Rwanda will be better able to do business on a global scale.

Rwanda’s economy suffered heavily during the 1994 Genocide, but has since strengthened, and tourism is a fast-growing sector. Another reason that there are currently so many positions to teach in Rwanda is because Americans tend to be better educated than the teachers who grew up and were educated in Rwanda. Having Americans working in the schools not only helps the countries youth learn how to speak English, but also helps improve their knowledge of math and science.
