One of the best parts of teaching English abroad is being able to explore historic buildings and learn about the history of the country. I lived in Germany for 4 years and taught English. When I first arrived, I bought a castle book and made it a point to visit several castles each month. I was able to visit several, but one of my favorites was the Heidelberg Castle, which is home of the Tun, the world’s largest wine barrel. I was able to taste eis wine, which is sweet and delicious. You can enjoy the beautiful surroundings by taking a boat tour on the Rhine river.
