Thailand is an incredible place to teach English, and it is also where one of the most bizarre events in the world takes place, the Lopburi Monkey Festival. In Thailand, long-tailed macaque monkeys are free to roam around the city of Lopburi, and enter public areas and buildings. They are thought to bring good luck, and a Monkey Banquet, also know as the Monkey Buffet, begins in November to celebrate these creatures. A feast is held in their honor where chefs prepare rice, ice cream and other cuisines for the monkeys.
