Honduras has seen a turbulent past, but it is working hard to move forward, and many see learning English as a great step. Often teachers venture out the larger cities and prefer to teach English in Tomala for a unique experience. Paying jobs are available though, typically they pay only enough to get by, about $400 monthly. Some teachers warn against working in the larger cities for safety reasons, but encourage new arrivals to head out into the more rural areas where they can find a very authentic and rewarding experience.
