Recently we invited language teacher Ivana Pavlovic to introduce us to Split, Croatia.
Shelly: Which landmark is a must for visitors?
Ivana Pavlovic: Croatia is a country rich in culture, with many monuments, sights, historical landmarks and natural beauties. If you want to experience a bit of everything, visit Dalmatia and its beautiful coastal towns Dubrovnik, Split, Šibenik and Zadar and national and nature parks, like Krka Falls, Kornati Islands or Mljet Island.

If you want to experience a real taste of the Adriatic, then you must try pršut (prosciutto), Paški sir (cheese coming from the island of Pag), škampi na buzaru (shripmp stew), brudet (seafood stew), pašticada (marinated beef), peka (roast lamb or veal with vegetables) and crni rižot (black risotto).
Shelly: Describe an activity your English learners enjoy!
Ivana Pavlovic: My English learners like all kinds of interactive activities, for example, educational bingos, quizzes, guessing games and tasks, and they do enjoy them even more when they are student-made. They like CLIL and being exposed to different topics, mostly by watching short clips or documentaries. Bringing multilingualism and multiculturalism into my classroom is of huge importance to me and my students.
Shelly: Thank you, Ivana Pavlovic, for introducing us to Croatia!
