One of the most colorful fireworks shows takes place in Taiwan. The Penghu Ocean Fireworks Festival began April 19th and lasts till June 21st with a nightly breathtaking fireworks show by the steel-arch Xiying Rainbow Bridge at the Guanyin Pavilion. Musicians play nightly with this backdrop. The festival began in 2003 after the May 2002 crash of China Airlines Flight 611 off the coast of Penghu. The government wanted to bring back tourism and now this is one of Taiwan’s grandest festivals attracting tourists worldwide. Find more about the festival here.
