Teach English Abroad in China

China has way more to offer than just the Great Wall. It has a deep history with a complex and passionate culture that consists of 22 provinces. Some teachers are tempted to begin in China because of the shear number of options. Finding a job will not be a problem, and even one where you will be able to live comfortably and save money is quite common. Working visas are easily attained for employment, and although positions can be found year round, if you want to teach in a public school, it’s best to start applying in May and June.

The People’s Republic of China is the world’s most populated country with over 1.35 billion citizens, and the second largest in land area spanning over 9.6 million square kilometers. China is a sovereign state located in East Asia and has very diverse topography, being home to both the Forest Steppes and the Taklamakan Deserts. China’s history is one of the world’s oldest, and dates back to ancient civilizations. Its economic history also spans thousands of years, and weaves a story of both prosperity and poverty. In 2013, China was the world’s second largest economy, and one of the fastest growing. Many people attribute this to economic reforms in 1978.
