Guinea, located on the western coast of Africa, showcases diverse landscapes and climatic zones. The country's narrow coastal plain, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, transitions into the Fouta Djallon highlands, a mountainous region known for its grasslands and deep valleys. This elevated plateau is the source of major rivers like the Niger, Gambia, and Senegal. The upper Guinea region consists of a savanna-covered plateau, while the southeastern Guinea Highlands, also known as the Forest Region, boast lush rainforests and mineral-rich mountains. This varied topography, ranging from lowlands to highlands, supports a variety of ecosystems and contributes to Guinea's rich natural resources.
