Kazakhstan, the world's largest landlocked country, boasts a diverse geography spanning Central Asia and a sliver of Eastern Europe. It's a land of extremes, with vast steppes dominating its landscape, complemented by arid deserts, semi-arid regions, and a touch of forested areas. The north is characterized by the flat West Siberian Plain, while the south and east rise into the majestic Tian Shan and Altai Mountains, home to the country's highest peak, Khan Tengri. Kazakhstan also borders the Caspian Sea to the southwest and shares part of the shrinking Aral Sea with Uzbekistan. These diverse landscapes, combined with a sharply continental climate, contribute to the country's unique ecological and cultural identity.
