Accra, the capital of Ghana, is located on the Gulf of Guinea along the Atlantic coast of West Africa. The city is built on a series of low hills and spreads northward over the undulating Accra Plains. The landscape is characterized by its coastal location, with sandy beaches and lagoons, and its proximity to the Akwapim-Togo Ranges. The Densu River flows through the city, providing a source of fresh water. Accra's climate is tropical savanna, with warm temperatures year-round and distinct wet and dry seasons.
